Quick Answer: Buying a canopy factory-direct means paying the factory price plus freight and duties — no distributor layers in between. Your landed cost is four lines: factory price From US$538, freight, import duties (HS code 8708295900, rate varies by country), and final delivery. We quote all four as one number on EXW, FOB, DAP or DDP terms — compare that number, not a sticker price.
"Factory-direct" is a claim every seller makes and few can define. Here is the definition we work to: Trigallop is the sales arm of the factory that builds the canopies — one company, one factory, no independent distributor taking a margin between your payment and the production line.
This page shows the structure of what you pay, the four ways to ship it, and how to compare our quote against any local dealer's — with a calculator you can run yourself.
The four lines of your landed cost
| Line | What it covers | Who pays (EXW/FOB) | Who pays (DAP/DDP) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Factory price | The canopy, built to your truck's scan | You | You |
| Freight to port + ocean | Export handling, sea leg | You (we arrange on FOB to the ship) | Us |
| Insurance | Loss/damage in transit | You | Us |
| Import duties + customs | HS 8708295900, rate varies by country | You | Us |
| Final delivery | Truck to your address | You | Us |
The honest total (US example, October 2026 quotes, reprice with your own numbers): a US$538 canopy plus its share of a 20ft container (≈ US$958/unit at a full 25-unit load) lands around US$1,500 before duties and final delivery. Insurance, import duty and the last-mile truck still depend on your country and address — that's the part only your broker can quote.
Why factory-direct costs less — stated carefully
We don't publish a "you save X%" figure, because the honest answer depends on your local market's retail prices, which we can't see. What we can state plainly:
- One commercial layer. The price you pay funds one factory and one sales team. A retail price funds a factory, an importer, a distributor and a dealer. Each layer adds its margin to the same physical canopy.
- The comparison is yours to make. Get a local quote for the same configuration — aluminium thickness, door layout, roof rating — then ask us for a DDP landed quote to your postcode. The two numbers are directly comparable. Any seller who won't let you compare landed cost against landed cost is selling the comparison, not the canopy.
How to verify any factory-direct claim (ours included)
- Ask who builds it. We build in our Zhongshan factory; the sales company and the factory answer to the same owner. Ask any supplier the same question.
- Ask for the landed quote, not the FOB price. FOB is the number factories advertise because it's the smallest. DDP to your door is the number you actually pay.
- Ask what's rated, with evidence. Our 150–500 kg static roof load (by material and thickness) comes with load-test video. Whatever number decides your purchase, ask how it was measured.
