Quick Answer: A bed slide rolls your whole cargo deck out to the tailgate — everything comes to you at waist height, which suits mixed, bulky or frequently changing loads. A drawer system organizes tools and camp gear into lockable, weather-sealed compartments — which suits fixed inventories and anything you cannot leave loose. Our drawer systems run on heavy-duty industrial slides rated ≥350 kg; our third-generation bed slides pair an aluminium deck with a steel base and a locking pull handle. Both quote per build after a fitment check.
Both products end the same daily annoyance — climbing into the bed to reach what's in front. They do it in opposite ways: the slide brings everything out, the drawer brings order to what's inside. The wrong choice means either a disorganized deck or a drawer half full of things that do not fit, so this guide separates the two by how you actually load.
1. Access: everything out vs everything in its place
A bed slide carries the load on rollers: pull the locking handle, and the entire deck rolls past the tailgate. A fridge, toolbox or camp box that sat a metre deep arrives at waist height. Nothing is unpacked to reach something else.
A drawer system splits the bed into stacked, partitioned storage. Our drawer units run dual drawers with a top tray slide, on heavy-duty industrial rails rated ≥350 kg for the set, sized 150 × 140 × 40 cm at 60 kg self-weight.
What to decide: whether your load changes week to week (slide) or is a fixed kit you pack once (drawer).
2. Security and weather
Drawers close into lockable compartments behind the tailgate — gear is invisible from outside and organized inside. A slide leaves your cargo visible on the deck under whatever cover the bed wears. Both products sit under our canopies, roller covers and hard bed covers; combined builds are quoted together so the clearances are checked against each other before production.
3. Load ratings and construction
| Attribute | Bed slide (3rd gen) | Drawer system |
|---|---|---|
| Deck / structure | Aluminium deck (flat or tread-plate) on steel base | Heavy-duty PE/metal build |
| Rated capacity | Confirm with factory per build | ≥350 kg on industrial slides |
| Self-weight | Quoted per build | 60 kg (150×140×40 cm unit) |
| Locking | Locking pull handle, auto-latch on close | Anti-theft drawer locks |
| Power option | — | Power & Water Box: 32 L tank + LiFePO4 battery, 3.14–10 kWh, 3000–4000 W inverter |
What to ask: the rated capacity in writing, per configuration. Our drawer rating is published at ≥350 kg; bed-slide ratings are confirmed per build because deck length and platform vary.
4. Camp power: the drawer system's quiet advantage
The drawer line has an option no slide can match: the Power & Water Box — a 32 L stainless water tank and a lithium iron phosphate battery bank (3.14–10 kWh, catalogue example 5.56 kWh) with a 3000–4000 W inverter, 220 V × 2 plus 12 V and USB outputs, digital battery and water gauges, at 90 kg self-weight. For overlanding builds this one unit replaces a separate battery box and water Jerry setup. Catalogue pricing: drawer units from US$1,500, Power & Water Box US$2,900 — final quote by configuration.
5. Price and what moves it
Drawer pricing follows dimensions, slide class and power options; slide pricing follows deck length, deck face and base spec. Both are quoted per build after your truck is checked against 3D scan data — send the model, bed length and a rough load list, and the written quote follows within 24 hours.
Where a bed slide genuinely still wins
If your truck earns its keep hauling mixed cargo — trade tools on Monday, camping gear on Friday — a drawer system will frustrate you with things that do not fit its compartments. The slide's flat deck takes anything the bed takes. We build both; the slide is the right answer for chaotic, real-world loads, and we will say so even though the drawer line carries the higher ticket.
Decide in one line
- Fixed tool kit, camp build, want power and water? Choose a drawer system.
- Mixed, bulky, ever-changing loads? Choose a bed slide.
- Building an overlander? Ask about the drawer + Power & Water Box + canopy combination — we quote the clearances together.

FAQ_SPLIT## Frequently Asked Questions
Can I have both a bed slide and a drawer system?
Usually one or the other — both occupy the same bed volume. A common compromise is a slide under a canopy plus a compact drawer unit in a second vehicle. Tell us the full build and we check the clearances.
Does the slide lock closed?
Yes — the pull-handle latch locks the deck closed, and it catches again automatically when you push the deck home. Corrugations and slopes are exactly what the latch is for.
What does the Power & Water Box actually run?
At the catalogue configuration (5.56 kWh example): camp lighting, a fridge, device charging and small 220 V appliances simultaneously — the inverter is rated 3000–4000 W. Final pairing depends on your battery selection.
How long does either build take to arrive?
Production runs 15–25 working days, made to order, plus ocean transit. Your quote states the exact lead time for your configuration.
